Senior Cybersecurity Leaders Join Axonius to Accelerate Product, Customer, and Channel Growth

NEW YORK--()--Cybersecurity asset management company Axonius today announced that Lenny Zeltser has joined the company as vice president of product, John McCabe was appointed as senior director of worldwide channels and alliances, and Gil Zimmermann has joined the company’s advisory board. On the heels of its recognition as 2019’s Most Innovative Startup at the RSAC Innovation Sandbox and SC Magazine’s Rookie Security Company of the Year, this strategic expansion supports Axonius in meeting the explosive demand for its cybersecurity asset management platform while continuing to invest in product innovation.

“The interest we’ve seen in 2019 from security professionals looking to solve asset management once and for all has been astounding,” said Dean Sysman, chief executive officer and co-founder at Axonius. “We've already expanded ARR by more than 145 percent from the beginning of the year, on-boarded our first Fortune 500 customers, and expanded into additional verticals including healthcare, financial services, tech, manufacturing, media, non-profit, insurance, and more. Among those, some of our customers have purchased the solution solely based on a demo. Today’s announcement demonstrates our commitment to product innovation, working with channel partners, and solving the asset management challenge for as many organizations as possible.”

Lenny Zeltser joins Axonius as vice president of product. Zeltser previously led security product management at Minerva Labs and NCR. Before that, he spearheaded the U.S. security consulting practice at a leading cloud services provider acquired by CenturyLink. Zeltser also helps shape global cybersecurity practices by teaching at SANS Institute and by sharing knowledge through writing, public speaking, and community projects. He has earned the prestigious GIAC Security Expert designation and developed the Linux malware analysis toolkit REMnux. Lenny is also on the Board of Directors of SANS Technology Institute.

“I'm excited about joining Axonius and the positive change our company can bring to the industry,” said Zeltser. “Asset management is so important and so foundational to cybersecurity. Unfortunately, it's also incredibly hard to perform in today's dynamic environments. The limited visibility into IT assets is the root of many security problems, ranging from audit and compliance to malware defense and incident response."

Axonius has also appointed John McCabe as senior director of worldwide channels and alliances, serving as the official launch of the company’s channel program. Having most recently served as senior director of global MSSP for Cofense, McCabe previously oversaw the Mid-Atlantic enterprise and commercial sales team funnel for FireEye, earning top channel manager honors with the company. Additionally, as FireEye’s director of MSSP business development, McCabe implemented a global MSSP program and managed partnerships with major industry leaders such as OPTIV, Sirius, Trustwave, GuidePoint Security, HCL, ISH, Venticinco, EZ Security, and Presidio.

In this role, McCabe will drive the growth of Axonius’ channel program, which includes inaugural partners Apollo Information Systems, GuidePoint Security, and SBS Security to build a regional and national portfolio of distribution partners that accelerates long-term sales and revenue goals.

“John’s demonstrable success in channel and MSSP program execution is indisputable,” said Joe Hoban, vice president of sales, Axonius. “His pragmatic approach will not only help us grow exponentially but also formalize and strengthen relationships with best-in-class technology companies we integrate with every day.”

Axonius has also announced Gil Zimmermann has joined its advisory board. Zimmermann leads cloud security go to market, innovation, market expansion strategy, and execution for Cisco’s $3B Security business. Before Cisco, Zimmermann was the CEO and co-founder of CloudLock, which he grew into a cybersecurity market leader, resulting in its acquisition by Cisco in 2016.

“It’s exciting to advise a company with as much potential as Axonius,” said Zimmermann. “The team at Axonius has identified a very real and complex problem that customers are eager to solve now, and has built a simple solution to it. The company’s ability to solve a real problem simply is the holy grail in cybersecurity, and I’m looking forward to helping Axonius continue its mission.”
