    What is Information Security (InfoSec)?

Information Security is the protection of sensitive data across an organization, whether it’s in digital or physical form. This might include various aspects of IT security, such as securing data stored on the cloud. It may also apply to some of the work done for cybersecurity, which protects data from cyber attacks.

InfoSec is beyond technological forms of data storage and protection, though. They may also be involved with shredding programs, archive policies, and facility access management.

What are the Primary Concerns of InfoSec?

The main areas of concern for InfoSec professionals are the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information to the people who need to access it. They may also be concerned about ensuring proof of delivery, or “paper trails,” which is called non-repudiation, or about physical infrastructure security.
