    Security Posture

    What is Security Posture?

The phrase “security posture” refers to the overall state of an enterprise’s cybersecurity preparedness. Security posture includes having a real-time inventory of all IT assets, and regular automated vulnerability scanning of all of those assets. It includes preventative measures put in place, such as endpoint protection, identity access management, data encryption, firewalls, and antivirus software. Finally, it encompasses the company’s incident response plan, and the team’s readiness to handle a data breach or cyber attack if it were to happen.

By being aware of common cyber attack vectors and the potential cyber attack surface of the enterprise, the cybersecurity team can better anticipate which areas need more surveillance and protection.
