Axonius named the only Visionary in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SaaS Management Platforms

Josh Donelson

Principal Product Marketing Manager, Axonius

Axonius has been named a Visionary—the only vendor—in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for SaaS Management Platforms (SMP). This recognition is validation of a deliberate strategy: SaaS management has a natural home inside of an asset intelligence platform.

Why SaaS management belongs in an asset intelligence platform

Most SMPs grew up around procurement and license spend. Axonius set out to extend and evolve the category to complement what SMPs do well. SaaS applications, their users, their misconfigurations, and their posture findings are just another asset class, and the right place to manage their visibility and risk is the same place you manage the rest of your assets.

That place is the Axonius Asset Cloud: the platform that reconciles every asset and exposure across your security and IT stack into a single view you can trust and act on. Axonius SaaS Applications extends that model into the SaaS layer, tying every app to the identities and devices that touch it. License optimization still happens; Axonius customers regularly report 15–25% cost savings. But savings are a downstream effect. The value starts with seeing SaaS clearly.

Having SaaS applications integrated directly into your asset intelligence platform lets you benefit from what Axonius does best. With more than 1,400 adapters at your disposal, you can visualize and report on managed and shadow SaaS, and see how usage relates to every other asset and identity in your environment. Investments in AI allow the Axonius Asset Cloud to correlate asset criticality, gaps in controls, vulnerability information, and threat intelligence to provide a fully contextualized view of SaaS risk.

The Axonius Action Center ties it together: automated, no-code workflows and over 600 remediation actions ensure a SaaS finding gets routed, owned, and fixed instead of sitting in a queue.

Visibility is the starting point, not the outcome. Discovery tells you what you have.  Reconciliation tells you what's at risk and what to do about it, in that order.

It’s the same shift behind the evolution of cyber asset attack surface management (CAASM) into asset intelligence: aggregation gets all your data in one place, and reconciliation gives you decision-grade intelligence you can act on.

Why your AI and GPT usage is a SaaS risk

Here's where SaaS and AI converge. When your team uses a hosted GPT model, that model is a third-party application running on the internet, reached through a browser, and touching your data. In other words: a SaaS app, with all the discovery, hygiene, and posture questions that come with one. Shadow AI is shadow SaaS by another name.

Asset intelligence is built for exactly this. We're positioning AI to work in both directions: AI for security, where the platform surfaces risky patterns and recommends the next action, and security for AI, where AI adoption itself becomes an asset you can govern.

We recently announced an integration with the Claude Compliance API, which pulls Claude Enterprise users, roles, and API keys into the Axonius Asset Cloud. The integration reconciles Claude Enterprise assets against the identities, devices, and access behind them, surfacing compounded risk in one asset record. AI is a permanent part of the SaaS estate now, and we're building accordingly.

See SaaS as another asset class in the Axonius Asset Cloud

When SaaS management lives in an asset intelligence platform, the blind spots close. As Mike Conroy, Assistant Manager of Information Security at Digital Federal Credit Union, put it:

"Axonius took what we thought we knew about our assets and gave us something a lot closer to the truth. It was able to take separate pieces of data, combine them together to reconcile that data, and really show us where our gaps were."

That's what it looks like when the operational burden lifts. No extra tooling and no separate console. Just SaaS taking its place alongside every other asset class that matters, unified in the Axonius Asset Cloud.

See it for yourself. Get a live Axonius demo and watch SaaS discovery, hygiene, and risk resolve into one model your whole team can trust.
