Last Thursday, Axonius traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend, speak, and exhibit at a Data Connectors event. Data Connectors is the leading provider of cybersecurity conferences held in various cities across North America. These one-day conferences feature a keynote session, CISO panel, and 8-10 speaker sessions aimed to educate attendees on current cybersecurity threats, solutions, and trends. As a first-time exhibitor, Axonius was eager to meet and interact with Charlotte-based cybersecurity professionals at our booth and during happy hour.
Axonius’ Senior Sales Engineer, Andrew Senko, kicked off the day with a speaking session titled “Why Does Asset Management Matter for Cybersecurity?” Drew opened the presentation with a personal anecdote about Cliff, a former colleague who had disabled a security-agent on his work device and the ensuing challenges this action had created for the organization.
After capturing the audience’s attention with this anecdote, Drew transitioned into the topic at hand: the what, why, and how of cybersecurity asset management. Attendees listened in as Drew shared three modern asset trends, discussed five real-life asset management challenges and how to tackle them, and closed with a practical six-step checklist on how any practitioner can successfully manage a company’s assets. The presentation was well-received, as evidenced by the inquisitive questions and booth traffic after the session.
One thing worth mentioning is a tornado warning that flashed across our mobile phone screens later that morning. Conference attendees and hotel guests hunkered down in the conference space for a couple hours as the storm cell moved through the area. The hiccup, however, did not damper spirits, as we still had plentiful positive interactions with attendees who stopped by our booth. Specifically, the team received questions regarding credentials, patching efforts, and Axonius adapters related to IoT and industrial technology.
All in all, we’re thrilled with the valuable face-to-face time we had with Charlotte-area information security professionals. Many thanks to all the attendees and Data Connectors for helping make the conference a success.
We’ll also be at the upcoming Data Connectors in Denver on February 20 and Atlanta on March 5. View a list of upcoming events we’ll be attending and let us know if you’re planning to attend, and we would be happy to set up a meeting at our booth.
