    GETTING TO AXONIUS

    Where did you work before Axonius? I was at Cybereason, where I grew from Manager, Events Marketing to Senior Manager, Field Marketing. Before Cybereason, I was at Virgin Pulse as their Senior Manager, Demand Generation.

    When did you join Axonius? February 2019

    How did you hear about Axonius? Through a serendipitous, personal introduction to Nate Burke, CMO at Axonius.

    Why did you join Axonius? It was a no brainer. There was more growth opportunity here, and from what I knew about the impressive company at the time, I thought to myself, “Why would I say no?”

    LIFE AT AXONIUS

    What’s your favorite part about working at Axonius? It sounds so cliche, but it’s honestly the teams I get to work with. Everyone respects each other, and I think everyone works really well together. Maybe it’s because most of us are remote, but I feel like there’s a sincere effort made to stay in touch and work as one cohesive unit.

    What has been your highlight working at Axonius? Being honored as the Rising Star Cybersecurity Marketer of the Year! (Thanks Nate for the nomination!)

    What does a typical day at Axonius look like for you? Because we get to work from home, I get to spend a lot of time with our marketing intern – Goji – my dog. We go for a long walk, and then go downstairs to my office where she promptly asks me to throw the ball across the room. A mix of talking with sales and marketing to figure out how we can be better than yesterday.

    What do you eat for lunch? Typically, a salad or last night’s leftovers.

    JUST FOR FUN

    What do you like to do fun outside of work? Spend time with my dog Goji, whether it’s hiking or going to the dog park. I also enjoy trying the latest and greatest IPAs. Right now, my favorite is Flagship IPA from Channel Marker Brewery, a local place in Beverly, MA. There are four breweries within walking distance of one another, which is a lot of fun.

    If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Properly drive a race car. I know nothing about cars or how it’s done, but I love the idea and have always wanted to try it. Even though I’d probably be scared out of my mind.

    What is something you learned in the last week? I learned how far I can really push myself when balancing work and my social life and making the most out of each day.

    Any special talents or skills? Frisbee – I was a captain in college and after college. Still have a pretty good forehand throw. 

    If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? A few things: pay off my house (and my parents house) and spend a lot of time in the Caribbean. Maybe (just maybe) get Goji a playmate.

    Do you have any pets? Goji, a two-year-old rescue mix (lab and rottweiler) from Puerto Rico (spot her in the photo below!)

    ADVICE

    What advice would you give to someone who wants to transition into cybersecurity? There’s honestly nothing to be afraid of. There’s a notion that you have to be super technical and know a ton of the lingo, but when I was interviewing for my first role in cybersecurity – I was nervous – but jumped headfirst and it was even easier to switch industries than I ever could have imagined. The industry changes every day and there’s always something new to pay attention to – which keeps everyone on their toes.
