From being named to Fortune’s 2021 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list to securing ninth spot on DUN’S 100 Best Start Up Companies to work for Over 100 Employees list, Axonius continues to grow its footprint around the world.
And here at Axonius, we truly believe that our employees are the key to our success. We’re always looking for ways to create an environment where innovation is rewarded, as our values and vision remain focused on helping shape a better future for cybersecurity.
We also weave creativity into every little thing we do. And it pervades our initiatives and efforts for attracting and retaining the right talent.
“We always try to be very creative, and influence our team with a variety of people from different cultures, experience levels, and even age,” said Yoed Grizim, director of engineering for the Asset Group at Axonius.
Keeping in line with bringing in the right talent to enable our teams, we launched our first summer internship program at our Tel Aviv office earlier this year. The internship provided high school students with the opportunity to experience an innovative and fast-paced environment.
“This was a great initiative wherein we had the opportunity to tap into talented high school students. It gave them the opportunity to gain real-life engineering and business experience, and for us, they enabled our team by building platforms and tools that we use every day,” Yoed added.
Idan Carlebach and Uri Bar Ilan recently completed their two-month internship at Axonius. They worked as Junior Backend Engineers in the Asset Group during their stint. Here’s what they have to say about their experience.
What about Axonius made you interested in working here?
Idan: My dream since day one was to work at a cybersecurity company as a back-end engineer. After I joined, I was pleasantly surprised by the working environment. It was great!
Uri: The Axonius product is a very interesting product and I could see how beneficial it can be to many companies.
What was the best part of your summer internship at Axonius?
Uri: My favourite part of the summer internship was moving to the new office. It's such a big place and the atmosphere was very nice.
Idan: The best part of my summer internship was the task execution time. That's because when I did my tasks I've always learned new things and enjoyed the development process.
Sum up your Axonius summer internship in three words.
Idan: Great internship experience.
Uri: Fun, challenging, productive.
What was the greatest career lesson learned from your internship experience? What skills did you gain during your summer internship?
Uri: I learned how to write documentation pages. Also, how to use Docker. I didn't use Docker for development before working for Axonius and it changed my entire perspective about Docker.
Idan: Writing good code. Plus, I gained several skills during the summer internship, like learning how the hierarchy works in a high-tech company, and many more.
What is the next career step you want to take, and how has Axonius prepared you for it?
Uri: My next career step is staying a backend engineer, Axonius has improved my skill set.
Idan: My next career step is going to be accepted for a cyber unit in the IDF, and Axonius has prepared me by giving me tools like great code writing and how my thinking should look.
